Welcome To The New Houston Women’s Hiking Blog

Why A HWH Blog?

Regular questions come up in our group, and these blog posts let us answer those questions all in one convenient location. Blog posts also help us educate and inform, which is very exciting.

Our hike leaders have grown and do so much. It will also be great to feature them and their stories in our blogs.

Blog posts give us a venue to offer more things to our members, such as online classes, etc. I am a writer and would love to write more about our trips, process, and nature, so this blog excites me.

Houston Women's Hiking Is Growing

Our online private Facebook group has grown and continues to grow. At the time of the writing of this blog post, we have just hit 15,000 women. Yes, that is 15,000 women who love to do outdoor things. However, that number quickly changes when 50-100 people join weekly. Many women feel they have come home when they start to participate in Houston Women’s Hiking Events. It is a beautiful supporting group of women. We are also growing on the administration side, and besides this blog, the camp store and the Facebook page will soon be offering many other things.

Who's Writing Blog Posts

My name is Bridgette Mongeon, I am the creator and admin of Houston Women's Hiking, which started in 2016. I am a writer and I look forward to writing for the HWH blog.

Our other writer, Christina Sizemore is my daughter and co-admin (since October 2019). We are the first writers.

Admins and HWH Writers Bridgette and Chris

But stay tuned. We will seek guest writers and regular writers for the HWH Blog. Do you like to write? Do you want to share some of your travels, suggestions, and thoughts?

Thank you so much for being a part of this incredible group and for sharing your growth and encouragement with the women around you. Houston Women’s Hiking offers a safe place for women to explore the outdoors while meeting the most incredible people.

We are making a difference in the lives of many women. Every member does this, from hosting events to commenting or liking a post or photo. You make a difference right where you are, and we encourage you in your growth, healing, and adventures.
